2019 Sail Sale Starts Black Friday

East Carolina Sailing is offering 33% Discounts on all Boat Bumz Sailing Courses and Cruises and 25% Discounts on all US Sailing Certifications for 4 days only! Black Friday Through Cyber Monday. Friday, November 23rd – Monday, November 26th

11 years ago I was bringing the new to me S/V Why Knot II down from Arnold, MD by myself. I got stuck in Coinjock, NC for two days over Thanksgiving by some heavy weather. I bought a canned ham, a can each of Hoppin’ John and jellied cranberries and settled into the boat to celebrate alone. It ranks as one of the best Thanksgivings I’d ever had because I had the time to truly reflect and realize how blessed I was.

It was also during those two days that I decided I was going to make a career change and figure out a way to make a living sailing. I had found my passion. Six months later I owned a sailing school and have been doing my best to share that passion ever since. It wasn’t and hasn’t been a cake-walk but my heart and soul is still doing what I love to do. I’ve been privileged to meet and sail with over 1000 students over the last 11 years. 2019 isn’t going to be any different but there will be some minor changes to my personal “dream” and East Carolina Sailing is still a big part of it.

East Carolina Sailing will continue providing the best personalized sail training out there. I am getting my US Sailing Teaching Certifications to provide the Cruising Courses to match all my ASA Certifications, up thorough Advanced Coastal Cruising and Multi-Hulls. The charter fleet is growing with the addition of a Catalina 34 and Catalina 30 in addition to the Hunter 27 and I’m in talks on a couple more. The day rental fleet is growing also but will be managed through Coastal Carolina Community Maritime Center. More info as all this comes together.

I have also decided to concentrate all these activities here in New Bern for the long term. I have been waffling back and forth between the Keys and New Bern for a few years now and I have been struggling with that decision all year, do I stay or do I go? I’m staying. I recently discovered that my 7th and 8th Great Grandfathers were part of the Palatine settlers that founded New Bern in 1710. I just happened to show up 301 years later. I am taking that revelation as a sign!

I am looking forward to sailing with you this season, our 12th, whether it’s a lesson, a Sunset Sail or a flotilla in the Islands. This is what I’ll be thinking about during Thanksgiving this year. I am still blessed and grateful for the opportunities I have been provided and for the people that I have met over the years and helped shape my life. Thank you one and all and I am looking forward to meeting many more in the future.

┬áStarting Friday, November 23rd and running through Monday, November 26th for 4 days only, I’m offering 33% Discounts on all Boat Bumz Sailing Courses and Cruises and 25% Discounts on all US Sailing Certifications.
